There are many yogurts to find on the aisle in most supermarkets but always choose the plain unsweetened one (Greek yogurt) as it’s much healthier without the addition of artificial flavourings. My fridge is never not without plain yogurt.

This recipe calls for unsweetened yogurt which is rich in probiotics, vitamin A , zinc and antixoxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin all of which are beneficial for maintaining good vision and eye health. Vitamin a is crucial for maintaining a healthy retina, while lutein and zeaxanthin helps protect the eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays and reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration. Yogurt Salad Dressing Ingredient List:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (4 tablespoons)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil / vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil

Instructions:

  1. In a medium jar or bowl combine the plain Greek yogurt, oil, lime juice, minced garlic, and honey.

  2. Add salt, mustard seeds, fresh basil to the jar.

  3. Shake the jar mixing everything together until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

  4. Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning if needed.

  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  6. Drizzle over your favorite salad and enjoy!
