A Weekend of African Fashion Shopping At FashionistaGh Shopping Festival

Its that time of year where fashionistas, fashion bloggers, fashion labels, beauty brands and food vendors gather to eat, shop, take selfies and do more shopping! #Fghshop an initiative by FashionistaGh has been an annual shopping festival in Ghana for the past three years. Its happening once again at the International Trade Fair Centre, Pavilion A and starts from 10am to 8pm each day.

Ericsson Ghana Engages Female Engineering Students In Support of Womens Day (#IWD2015)

The 8th of every March is International Women’s Day globally and this year’s observance was held as usual since its first on February 28, 1909 in New York. And to celebrate this year’s event , Ericsson Ghana to show their support for women advancement across the globe, held a mentoring and speaking session to engage female engineering students from the various tertiary institutions across the country with esteemed world-recognised women in engineering and technology careers.

The annual arts, music and everything else cultural event ChaleWote took place recently at the usual location; JamesTown and once again it was filled with lots of eye-brow raising artwork, trendy African street fashion, street art and lots more!

I however didnt feel the energy of this year's event as compared to last years which was more packed with vendors and the curious. I made it to the second day after church and it was good to see more people attend.

JoyFm once again organised its annual bridal fair with the usual splendour and buzzed activities. This year the event dubbed  'Together Naturally' run for four days and it had more vendors and great attendance. Although I missed the marriage seminar, I found time to attend the Saturday session to see what was new on the wedding organisation planet. Was there anything new and exciting being offered by the vendors?

#VGMA2014 - Unseen Photos & The Candid Review.

So by now you have heard, seen and read what happened at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and what a bore it was. The Shatta movement fans are still celebrating over Shatta Wale's Artiste of the Year award (which I hope has been found by now) and Sonnie Badu is also in cloud nine for winning 2 awards Gospel Artiste of the Year and Best Male Vocal Performance of the Year.

#VGMA2014 You No Force Kwraa (Worst) Fashion Moments

I have always been intrigued by the choice of wear for most events in Ghana especially music awards, movie awards, musical concerts etc. I have seen some disastrous outfits which leave little to the imagination and raises a few eyebrows from onlookers.

Sadly the fans and some guests arrived at the #VGMA2014 awards looking like they had to squeeze every fat into a smaller sized dress whilst some walked or attempted to walk in mountainous platforms which forced them to walk like drunken giraffes. I am being a bit sharp but what I saw yesterday just makes me wonder why someone would put themselves through the pain and discomfort in order to look 'fashionable'?

Vodafone Ghana Music Awards - The Fashion Trends

If awards were to be given to best dressed and best looks at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (#VGMA2014), there would have been a select few amongst some personalities who turned up at the event.

It was fascinating to note the beauty and fashion trends at the event which ranged from long shimmering gowns to deep v-necked dresses and not forgetting cut-out dresses. Bold eyebrows was also a make-up trend with bold red lipsticks to match. The men also came out in suits, traditional wear and lots of swag.

A night of fashion brought new and old fashion designers in Ghana's fashion industry last night at the  Ghana Fashion and Design Week which took place at the plush Movenpick Hotel in Accra. I missed last years event but my experience last night made me regret missing out.

So I made it to the 2nd day of The #GFDW to see various fashion items on display in one room and a catwalk in the other. It was an impressive display of items ranging from jeweled bib necklaces to African styled one piece clothing.

Here are the best looks I caught from the catwalk to give you some fashion inspiration and to showcase the creative works of Ghanaian fashion designers.
