How To Make A Simple But Fabulous Kinky Twist HairStyle

Kinky twists have been around for some time. I never really thought they were the type of hair braid to look good on me. First of all, they look tough and non-flexible and it looked like a one way styled hair because every woman i saw with one had it just straight down and short. Just boring. But then over time, the weave used to braid kinky twists got softer and more flexible. Hallelujah! I still didnt try it out. Until last three weeks, when i run out of options on what to do to my transitioning hair that I decided to try the hair that looked like palm kernel female husks (the one that was lit and placed in a bowl to drive away mosquitoes).

Naturally I went to Pinterest for some inspiration and I came across loads of cool pinspiration on long kinky twists. I gathered my vim and went to Auntie Alice and got them done! Boy was it fast too.. i was done in less than 3 hours! I chose to do shoulder length twist braids with Carribean curls because I didnt want to get bored with a monotonous style so as to keep the hair as long as possible. Now I cant get enough of it!

Lessons From Dad- A curation of valuable lessons from Our Fathers.

This post is way overdue. I dont blame anyone but myself. Thanks to the defeat at the hands of the USA team, I was too desolate and distressed to post anything after Father's Day.

To celebrate Father's Day this year so that Fathers do not feel left out, i decided to curate  valuable Dad lessons learnt from readers and bloggers in my blogoshpere. Up till now I have only 3. Had this been a Mother's Day post, i would have received an overwhelming response. Come on people!

Here are some inspirational quotes from some of my favorite bloggers and friends.

Is This The Reason Why You Would Go To Your Ex-Boyfriends Wedding?

Your 2year relationship was one-in-a-million and you felt this was your last bus after your very dry spell of being unmarried for a long time. All your friends adored him and your parents placed their stamp of approval on your relationship. The altar was just a few feet away when suddenly….it all came to a crashing end! The rest of the months flew by on silent wings, you lost weight, lost interest in family events, avoided your friends, changed your phone number and became a hermit.

Wig caps. The trendy hairstyle for many African women looking to save time at the salon and money spent on weave-ons.

I have a few wig caps myself after I realised how much time and money I could save on my hair life. But after my first three I was faced with a challenge; how on earth am I going to maintain the shape of the cap? O_o??? There was no way I was going to buy mannequin heads for wigs and display them in my room (storage lacking as well) because that would have looked really weird!

There are some really cool iphone covers with different designs, disney characters and the like. But what about an iphone cover having African print designs? Now thats a very unique idea I thought to myself when I came across these fantastic iphone covers by Apparafix.

#VGMA2014 - Unseen Photos & The Candid Review.

So by now you have heard, seen and read what happened at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and what a bore it was. The Shatta movement fans are still celebrating over Shatta Wale's Artiste of the Year award (which I hope has been found by now) and Sonnie Badu is also in cloud nine for winning 2 awards Gospel Artiste of the Year and Best Male Vocal Performance of the Year.

#VGMA2014 You No Force Kwraa (Worst) Fashion Moments

I have always been intrigued by the choice of wear for most events in Ghana especially music awards, movie awards, musical concerts etc. I have seen some disastrous outfits which leave little to the imagination and raises a few eyebrows from onlookers.

Sadly the fans and some guests arrived at the #VGMA2014 awards looking like they had to squeeze every fat into a smaller sized dress whilst some walked or attempted to walk in mountainous platforms which forced them to walk like drunken giraffes. I am being a bit sharp but what I saw yesterday just makes me wonder why someone would put themselves through the pain and discomfort in order to look 'fashionable'?

Vodafone Ghana Music Awards - The Fashion Trends

If awards were to be given to best dressed and best looks at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (#VGMA2014), there would have been a select few amongst some personalities who turned up at the event.

It was fascinating to note the beauty and fashion trends at the event which ranged from long shimmering gowns to deep v-necked dresses and not forgetting cut-out dresses. Bold eyebrows was also a make-up trend with bold red lipsticks to match. The men also came out in suits, traditional wear and lots of swag.
