Catch Up On What You Missed During The BloggingGhana Blogging and Social Media Awards Night.
The euphoria has almost waned out for many Ghanaian bloggers who attended the glitzy purply social media awards night organised by Blogging Ghana at the serene Coconut Grove Regency Hotel. My euphoria however is still on cloud 6, as I got to do something different this year! I was given the spot of holding red-carpet interviews with the invited guests, nominees and bloggers before the show started. That was a memorable experience and actually came close to being on an E! show!

It was amazing to see many bloggers in formal or traditional and I could tell my previous post was actually paid attention to by almost everyone including Bridget Otoo, who confessed coming across the post during her interview. A few missed the memo though…ahem… you-know-yourself. So who was the best dressed for the night? I will share that soon.
Nana Kofi Acquah, one of Ghana's best photographers' whose work in sharing social issues through photography and telling untold stories did a brilliant presentation with his photos and the stories behind them. He placed a simple question to guests , 'What happened to you?' A statement which he made to make one think of how we lost our childhood and imagination when we grew up and how we have allowed norms and rules to make us conform to adulthood.
Mawuli Tsikata, social media manager at Citifm gave a hilarious presentation on top trending hashtags in 2014 which run from Jon Germain’s #IGoFindYou to #GhQuotes.
The awards started well with a few surprises and some expected ‘same-old winners’.
It would be encouraging to have nominees actually see the importance of these awards by actually coming to the program. Social media is growing immensely in Ghana and used right, it can be channeled into helping society to solve issues in the communities. #SocialGood was an area touched on by @JeanneClark of the U.S Embassy in Ghana to highlight how some Ghanaians are using Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to help the less privileged in the country.
Below are the award-winners in tweets, which I shared live during the event.

And now to the best dressed award for the night….
The nominees are @Kajsa - beautiful African print dress made up of mixed fabrics.
@LaurieFrempong - sleek black jumpsuit, hair up to the heavens
@KwameAnim - His suit became complete in an African print bowtie and it definitely got the ladies complimenting him through the night.
@nii_ayertey - Although he didn't get the memo, his Batakari and dress pants and brogues was perfect.
And the winner is…… @LaurieFrempong . I absolutely loved her amazing updo hairstyle which had been braided at the back and held up in an endless pompadour. Her wide-leg pants jumpsuit was sleek and chic with an understated chain belt sashaying around her waist. Go girl! Don't miss the Ghana wrist band as well!
Congratulations to all the winners, especially to Kobby Blay for winning Best Blog for his health blog www.ghanahealthnest.com , a useful and informative blog curating and creating content on health and lifestyle topics.
Well done to PlanIt Events, Gloria as usual was simply amazing with her handiwork! She should be blogging like yesterday!
