Founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey Steps Down As CEO & Twitter CTO Parag Agrawal Is Given His Mantle.
This was unexpected! Well at least for me anyway. Jack Dorsey has today 29th November, 2021 officially stepped down as Chief Executive of Twitter , an app he co-founded some 16 years ago. Jack tweeted out his resignation letter in the spirit of transparency on the app and to quieten the rumour which had already littered several Twitter Spaces Monday afternoon.
not sure anyone has heard but,

Below is the resignation letter explaining his tough decision.
Twitter reactions are just flying in. Whilst others are crushed, some see it as the end of their time on the bird app.
That seals the deal. I’m no longer a Twitter user. This app is pure and utter embarrassment to social media enthusiasts like me. I am officially going to Pinterest, where they know how to run a real social media app 🤡

👏🇵🇰 ThankYou Mr Jack Patrick Dorsey for your services! You've brought big revolution and innovation in socialmedia! Twitter is intellectual! Twitter will always be termed as a professional application with a great community! Good wishes from Pakistan!

It’s a mixed sort of reactions from everywhere across the globe.
Twitter taught me more than any school, university, or website ever could. It gave me a voice, an audience, and a new career, and it made me a much better writer.

I am forever grateful to you for building my favorite website, @jack, and I can't wait to see what you build next! https://t.co/b3FuRaLqiE
It must be downright scary letting go of a company you co-founded especially one which has created massive employment and opportunities, given people a voice and connected people in diverse ways. An app which has led to immense social and economic changes! Crazy! I don’t know how he’s feeling at the moment. Even the Shares of the company went down about half a percent before noon on Monday.
His role as CEO is being taken up by Parag Agrawal , Twitter’s CTO. Who is Parag? That question is bound to be on many minds after this mind-blowing announcement.
Parag Agrawal
Here’s a bit about Parag Agrawal you might find interesting;
He is an Indian-American who joined Twitter as a Distinguished Software Engineer and then becoming CTO of the social media company.
He’s worked at Microsoft Research and Yahoo Research before joining Twitter.
On the Twitter Leadership page, his bio also indicates he holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
I am very curious to see where Parag will take Twitter to. Will we be getting a creative version of an edit button? Or will the app evolve into opening up e-commerce features for small businesses already on the app? This is actually pretty exciting and scary at the same time!!!
