Morocco & Ghana Agree To Sign A Visa Waiver From Both Countries.

Hon. Ablakwah with Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana

In a landmark move aimed at strengthening ties between African nations, Ghana and Morocco have officially agreed to waive visa requirements for citizens of both countries. This was announced by Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Sam Ablakwa on his Twitter (X) account on Monday 24th March, 2025 after a diplomatic relations meeting with Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil.

The agreement will be presented to Ghana’s parliament for ratification shortly according to the post by Hon. Ablakwa.

This news is most welcomed by many Ghanaians like myself who have been dreaming of experiencing the colorful spice souks in Marrakech and dipping eager fingers in succulent authentic lamb tagine! The incredible intricate Hispano-Maghrebi architecture is definitely every explorers dream!

Did I mention that Morroco is on the bucket list of every foodie? Several Morrocan cities which are worth visiting are; Tangier , Fes, Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakesh. These are the most popular for tourists.

I've been following Her Excellency’s X account (She followed me back !) for a few years now and I simply love how she shares the lifestyle culture of her home country; the delicious foods, jewelry, architecture and landscapes look resplendent!

This mutual decision is expected to foster closer economic ties, enhance tourism, and encourage cultural exchange between the two nations.

It's also a major significant step forward which highlights the growing commitment to regional cooperation and unity across the continent.
