Jack Dorsey tweeted possibly the best news this week for Twitter Ghana. Twitter has arrived in Africa and Ghana gets to be the HQ for it’s operations. Although brief, the tweet was shared with a link to a blog post on Twitter blog site and carried a uniquely created hashtag #TwitterGhana . I love it!

Naturally, Twitter is hiring to fill up positions for it’s Ghana team. You can find these 12 positions in the marketing and communications and publishing fields here on the Twitter Careers Site. Mind you these positions are remote-based.

Michael Montano, Lead, Engineering also tweeted upcoming roles in engineering. 🥳

His Excellency, Nana Akufo-Addo wasn’t going to left out of the action, also quoted Jack’s tweet expressing his excitement for the potential this holds for Ghana’s tech industry.

The blog post also shared the reason why Ghana was chosen as it’s African operations office.

This move by Twitter also comes on the back of Jack’s 2020 tweet about staying in Ghana for 6months which many say was also a sign of a future Twitter office here.

It’s simply exciting times for the Ghana tech space. I’m excited to see young Ghanaians getting hired by Twitter which will inspire more youth in taking up STEM related courses.
