Owl's Nest International School held a successful, fun and engaging sponsored walk which was organized by the school's Parent's Teacher's Association (PTA). The 1km walk was held to raise funds to support the New Horizon Special School as well as to support internal PTA activities.

The sponsored walk brought together the school's pre-preschoolers, preschoolers, primary students and their parents as well as the school's alumni students. You could sense the anticipation amongst the young walkers who couldn't wait to grab the prizes at stake!

The walk started bright and early at 8am with no rain showers, thankfully! Walkers got to be tagged and bottles of water shared for the journey ahead.

Sponsored walking

By 10:45am the walk was over! I could see that eager walkers had started sprinting towards the finish line 😂😂😂. Some teachers cheered on the incoming runners or walkers?!😄

The winners coming up!

Whew! That was really thirsty work for the little humans 🥵😜

There was abundant food and fun activities after the walk and Essi's was there serving up hot fries and pork and Chilli wings. 😁

I had the opportunity to peruse several vendor stands after we sold out at ours and it was refreshing to see local food startups displaying their products.

Face painting time 🥳

Small businesses need to take advantage of such events by purchasing a stand as a vendor. This increases the brands sales leads and customer base.

A sponsored walk is a fun and engaging way for schools to raise funds towards a cause whilst also teaching the kids on its health importance and social impact. Kudos to the entire PTA for a great event! Let’s do this again!
